Atlanta History Center

Questo enorme parco, oltre al museo principale che racchiude tutta la storia di Atlanta e della Georgia in generale, comprende anche la Swan House - una villa risalente al 1928 e ispirata, guarda caso, alle nostre ville italiane - e la Smith Family Farm, risalente al 1860. Di questo posto, questa è stata forse l'attrazione che ha attirato di più la mia attenzione: è stato molto interessante conoscere la storia di quei luoghi e come vi viveva la gente (in fin dei conti come noi: c'era anche un vecchio strumento di legno per fare il burro, molto comune dalle mie parti fino agli anni '50), e la triste storia della deportazione degli schiavi. Da poche decine in un anno, si passò rapidamente a centinaia e migliaia nel giro di poco tempo.

This huge park, in addition to the main museum that encompasses the entire history of Atlanta and Georgia in general, includes the Swan House - a villa dating back to 1928 and inspired, incidentally, to our Italian villas - and the Smith Family Farm, dating 1860. of this place, this was perhaps the attraction that drew most of my attention was very interesting to know the history of those places and how people lived there (in the end as we do: there was also a old wooden tool for making butter, very common in my part until the '50s), and the sad story of the deportation of slaves. From a few dozen in a year, you will pass quickly in the hundreds and thousands in a short time.
