Simonetta Di Zanutto
A good place to stay
There are loads of reasons to opt for this guesthouse if you go to Malta. The first is Annie, the elderly but sprightly owner who is sure to become one of the best memories of your holiday. She will welcome you at whatever time you arrive, and will give you a personal goodbye when it's time for you to depart, even if you're leaving at dawn. She serves delicious breakfast, including pastries prepared by her daughter. The guesthouse is on one of the most beautiful streets of Valletta, Triq St. Ursula.
The guesthouse is at the top of a flight of stairs, right behind the entrance to the city, close to the bus terminal and a taxi rank.
Value for money is great: 20 euro per person per night, including breakfast. The rooms are spacious and clean, with a sink. The bathrooms are shared, but there are more than enough to go round. Bring your own towel. The building is made from typical Maltese limestone, and the only flaw is the lack of heaters in winter. An unforgettable atmosphere.
