Assureira Bridge
If you visit the Sierra de Peneda-Geres National Park, you must visit the village of Castro Laboreiro. It has a main church, but you will be struck by the number of bridges that are located nearby, over a distance of 2 or 3 miles. Assureira Bridge is supposed to be Romanesque. It is not very big as it is more of a brook than a river. This photo was taken recently at the end of the summer when the river was not carrying a lot of water. The bridge is located on the same road, between shrubs and trees. Luckily I was right next to the road otherwise I may have missed it. It had a unique, natural beauty.
