Worth a visit
Assi Ghat is just located at the confluence of the Ganga and Assi rivers, and is the last Ghat south of the city. There are several important temples, and it is frequented by pilgrims in the months of March and April, and in January and February. Until the 90s, the area was famous as a gathering place for hippies and musicians, and today it is quite popular with backpackers, and can be a good choice if you want to avoid the most crowded part of the old city.
