Asador Mendiola Restaurant

I recently made this great gastronomical discovery in the Alta Deba area. At the foot of Kurutzeberri mountain, stands what looks like a modest steakhouse that gets its name from the neighborhood in which it’s located, Mendiola.

The usual entrance is from Aretxabaleta, as the neighborhood and the restaurant both make up a part of Eskoriatza. It’s located next to the highway and next to the woods with wooden tables set up like a picnic area. From the outside, the restaurant has a prolonged appearance, following the shape of the typical “societies” located in many rural neighborhoods in the mountains of Euskadi.
