Museum with paintings, sculpture, furniture and more
Situated on Calle Real and formerly named Church Street, we went inside this museum and one can be find it one of the spaces that belonged to the former headquarters of Sluggish . Inside you will see portraits of Uruguayan patriots, a painting of Artigas and wooden carved Indian head pieces with feathers from the Tribe Chiefs and the Testament of Artigas, a painting of a battle, models of furniture, maps, cannonballs and much more.. Also there is a bigger model in which you can see displayed the Blandengues. A collection of national sculpture and paintings in one of the buildings of the barracks and was donated by García Uriburu, an Argentine painter, who served mold plaster works that were brought to Montevideo and elsewhere in the country.
