Arenal River

Una mañana soleada del inicio de la primavera, finales de marzo de 2013. Desde las cumbres de Gredos se precipitan en un recorrido incesante las aguas cristalinas de este rió de montaña, formando innumerables cascadas y remansos, pasear por su ribera es una experiencia muy saludable, enriquecedora y relajante, oír el murmullo de sus aguas cristalinas que se precipitan en un descenso incansable desde las cumbres golpeando las rocas graníticas que conforman su cauce, respirar el aire fresco limpio y puro, contemplado la densa vegetación que puebla su ribera. De las aproximadamente 1.400 especies vegetales de las que disfrutamos en la Sierra de Gredos, unas 200 son endemismos ibéricos, siendo 14 de estos exclusivos de la Sierra de Gredos. Cabe destacar por el espectacular color amarillo con el que se tiñen las laderas en primavera el Piorno Serrano.

Of the approximately 1,400 plant species we enjoy in the Sierra de Gredos, around 200 are endemic Iberian, 14 of these exclusive of the Sierra de Gredos. Notably, the spectacular yellow with that stain the slopes in spring Piorno Serrano.

Este río, (El Arenal), es un placer disfrutarlo tanto en invierno como en verano, en invierno dando un paseo y ver como el agua forma esas fantásticas cascadas y en verano disfrutando de un baño fresquito en sus charcas. El Arenal es un pueblo que en el mes de agosto aumenta su población considerablemente, y muchos de estos veraneantes tienen como opción acudir al río dado que es un lugar muy fresco, ideal para aplacar el calor.

This river, (El Arenal), is a pleasure enjoy both winter and summer, in winter a walk and see how the water forms waterfalls those fantastic summer and chilly enjoying a swim in their ponds. El Arenal is a town in the month of August the population increases considerably, and many of these vacationers have the option to go to the river because it is a very cool place, perfect to quench the heat.

Este es mi río, al que voy todos los años pero no siempre me baño. En verano, el agua baja de las cumbres de Gredos y está tan fría que da miedo. Es un río precioso. En su tramo por el Arenal tiene varios charcos y piscinas donde se puede bañar uno, algunos cubren y otros no. En invierno las aguas bajan super bravas y es el mejor momento para hacer fotos.

Although the official name of the river is the Arenal River, his entire leg is taking the names of the different lands he goes. Me encanta ir al río Arenal en verano, cuando el calor aprieta. Al estar muy cerquita de las montañas, el agua baja bastante fría y meterse de golpe es todo un desafío... yo suelo tardar una media hora en meterme por completo. Después del bañito, sales como acabante de nacer y no sientes más calor en todo el día.

I love going to the Arenal river in summer, when the heat. Being very close to the mountains, shallow water and get quite cold at once is a challenge ... I usually take half an hour to get me completely. After bañito salts as acabante birth and not feel warmer throughout the day.
