Haunted castle

Ardvreck Castle is a ruined castle dating back to the sixteenth century found on a rocky promontory near Loch Assynt in Sutherland region, northwest Scotland. You can get to the castle driving down the A837. After parking and walking to the ruins you can wander the site. The castle was built in 1590 by the Clan MacLeod and destroyed in 1672 by the attack of Clan MacKenzie. Legend has it that the castle is haunted by two ghosts: a tall man dressed in gray and a young girl. Another legend suggests that the Clan MacLeod asked the help of the devil to build the castle, and in return he demanded that the daughter of one of the leaders of the clan.

She jumped from one of the towers rather than complete the bargain and spent the rest of her life in hell. An interesting place, worth a stop.
