Former palace
The museum, housed in the former palace of the late 19th century Grosseto court, is known for its collection of archaeological pieces. The gallery is divided into five areas. The first is the cannon collection of Giovanni Chelli, the second is the exposition of Roselle, the third is the archaeology of Maremma, the fourth is the museum of religious art of the Diocese of Grosseto, and the fifth is the archaeology and history of the Middle Ages of Maremma Grosseto. The museum remains open and active featuring a public library with archaeological, historical and art historical texts. It also offers a consultation service and inter-library loans.
