Tuna, its speciality

Excellent

I would sleep in the hotel for a whole week just to be able to have lunch every day in this restaurant. It is one of those places in which, as soon as the dishes are served, you feel the 'love' with they were made.

You will not taste a better tuna. One day in Zahara de los Atunes has no sense without visiting Antonio's restaurant.

If you come over, here is the plan: check out the forecast, in case there's easterly wind I would not advise to come. Then, call to make a reservation, get to Zahara around 12:30 and go to the beach close to the restaurant. I think it is one of the best beaches of Spain, with kilometers of white and fine sand that has a perfect temperature in summer. The best of this beach is that it's not full: sometimes, you can even be alone 50 meters round. Just a pleasure. Crystalline water, of course.


In Antonio's Restaurant, the speciality is tuna and every kind of fish. I advise to take tuna assortment, with four toasts and the different parts of tuna organized by flavours, from the softer to the hardest. The waiter will explain it.

After that, you can ask for schrimp's tortilla, one of the emblems of the restaurant. They are really good. To end up with the starters, a good choice may be the anchovies.

Last time I went there I ordered sea bream and loved it. They take care of every little detail and you can appreciate this even in the olive oil that's served with the fish. Plus a good wine, a cold beer or some sparkling water, and you will love it.

About the dessert, what I liked the most was the waiter telling us the menu. "Special dessert, but not homemade...", he said. However, it was really good. Tiramisu was homemade, indeed, and also really good. I always choose lemon sorbet and surprisingly, it was the best I'd ever tasted.

All of this plus amazing sea views will make you feel completely relaxed. The service was perfect as well. Moreover, it is not really expensive.

Good food and good views

Thanks to one of your comments we decided to try the Antonio restaurant, located between Zahara and Atlanterra. It’s a very good restaurant with views of the beach.

There are quality options on the menu and the service is very attentive. I highly recommend the tuna mignon. It’s a good idea to reserve a table in advance and not to go in a swimming suite.

If you try it, you’ll go back

Antonio restaurant is an obligatory stop every summer when we go to Zahara. The dining room is very charming, with the beach in the background.

You can’t say anything about the food other than it’s excellent. We always ask for rice with seafood, which is a true delight. The tuna tartar is the best we’ve ever tried. The price usually runs us around 50 € with wine and desert.
