Worth a visit
The statue of an angel was erected in 1907 to commemorate the opening of the Araruama canals. The angel has its wings spread open, and is on top of a column 9 metres high. The statue has become a landmark and a symbol of the neighbourhood's identity. I love taking a boat ride down the canal to admire it.
