Among Worker Women

En la ciudad olívica nos encontramos con varias esculturas dedicadas a la "Mujer" y esta en particular está dedicada a la Mujer Trabajadora, obra del artista Pedro Dobao y que se localiza en los [poi=79965]jardines de A Bouza[/poi] en el popular barrio de Coia. A la Mujer Trabajadora se la considera una escultura pública figurativa y data del año 1996. De destacar en esta época el uso de materiales como el hierro, el granito y el mármol. Los dos principales representantes de la escultura en ese momento fueron el famoso escultor vasco Chillida y el canario Martin Chirino. Ambos trabajaban el hierro y los dos eran abstratos, si bien, hoy con la perspectiva del tiempo, se aprecian referencias al cuerpo humano como es el caso que nos ocupa.

In the city olívica we find several sculptures dedicated to the "Woman" and this particular one is dedicated to working women, the work of artist Peter Dobao and located in the gardens of Bouza in the popular neighborhood of Coia. A Working Woman is considered a figurative public sculpture dating from 1996. Of note at this time the use of materials such as iron, granite and marble. The two main representatives of the sculpture at that time were the famous Basque sculptor Chillida and the Canary Martin Chirino. Both worked iron and both were Abstratos, although today with the benefit of hindsight, we can see references to the human body as is the case at hand.
