The main door on the south side of the Red Fort, is called Amar Singh Gate, originally known as 'Akbar Darwaza' and was the door that was reserved for the Mughal Emperor Akbar and his personal entourage. Shah Jehan renamed it after the victory of Rao Amar Singh in Jodhpur. This story is very interesting, reflected in the Indian government page, and is as follows: Amar Singh Salabat killed Khan, the chief treasurer in front of the emperor Shah Jehan Akbar. Then he jumped on his horse through the high walls of the fortress. The horse died, and Amar Singh was arrested and sentenced to death. However, his bravery gained the admiration of the Emperor and the gate was renamed as the Amar Singh Gate in his honor.
