Amaçäo of Péra Beach

Amaçäo of Péra Beach

On our way from Galé Beach to Carvoeiro where we would be eating lunch, we decided to spend just a few minutes at this beach we'd never visited before. With its streets closed for renovation, we went to a part of the beach that was for small fishing boats. There was a hodgepodge of small boats, nets and fishing gear. Small wooden huts lined in two rows, as well as tools and other necessities for everyday use. On the beach there was just three of us, and another couple that was walking and several seagulls over our heads.

Armaçao de Pera Beach

A great beach in a fishing village would be how I'd bets describe this place. It is located a few kilometers from the town of Cape Carvoeiro and close to Albufeira and is always crowded with tourists throughout the year, especially the English. Part of the beach is dedicated to the work of the small fishing boats, where they keep all of their equipment. After this we went to the "real beach" frequented by tourists and as such, very well equipped with umbrellas, hammocks, etc.. During the walk we found the Armacao da Pera where there is a small chapel, but as we were short of time and looking for the International Festival of Sand Sculpture, we did not look into this.
