Altos de Guemes Hotel

I love early twentieth century mansions that have been restored, while maintaining their dignity and pride. When I visit one, I can't help but imagine how the original residents lived. Many of these houses are now restaurants, boutiques or even charming hotels in big cities. One such is the Hotel Altos de Gemes, located in one of Argentina's main tourist destinations, the city of Mar del Plata. It has been completely restored while maintaining the original architecture and charm. It has a great location, a few metres from the coast. There are 15 rooms (just imagine what life was like in the days when a family home had so many bedrooms!), all elegantly decorated.
