Saudade
Cathedral
The Cathedral is in the old area of Almeria. Its shape is more like a castle than a house of worship and it has a Gothic style, dating back to 1524, and its building ended 38 years later, in 1562. In the outer zone there is a robust and defensive design, characterized by the existence of buttresses, turrets and battlements, as the building suffered continuous attacks by North African pirates. It has three naves and three chapels. Well worth a visit and surround the cloister once inside.
