Just a few years ago, the idea of home delivery food did not work at all in Spain. I guess we like giving lunch the full ritual it deserves, sitting down and taking our time while eating. I’m not the only one who claims this, as a study last September saying Spain is among the last in the world to adopt the culture of fast food and take-away food.
Over the past few years, Malasaña has become filled with take away places: crepes, hot dogs, pizza, etc., even vegetarian food. They’re almost all located on Espíritu Santo street, and offer better-than-decent quality food at a good price. My favorite is Aliño. The food is made there, the offerings are original, and the service is very nice and friendly.
