Al Hoceima Beaches

The city of Al Hoceima has recently experienced a total touristic boom due to the high number of nearby beaches. The Quemado beach is located right there at the city's foot, perched on the cliffs that surround this little beach. The beaches on the west go for miles, and can be accessed very easily until you get to the end of the road and continue beyond the interesting National Park Al-Hociema. The beaches on the east are relatively further away and you need some sort of transportation to get to them. A highlight would be the beach where there is a really interesting small cove to the east. And finally we should mention Sfiha beach which has a long stretch of sand where there are plans to develop housing estates.

On the beach Sfiha you can't not notice the series of white islets located a few hundred meters from the beach. Two are uninhabited apart from colonies of sea birds and are the Sea Island and the Isle of the Earth and the last El Peñón de Alhucemas that is home to a small group of Spanish troops. The three islands are sovereign places, forming parts of Ceuta and Melilla. They are also a part of some of the other islands that are spread along the Rif coast.
