Alfonso XI Poplar Grove

The Alameda de Alfonso XI is the main town square of San Roque. The creation of this place dates back to 1831 when the City planted 250 poplars. Since then it has been an essential part of civic activity and has witnessed many historic events. The name of Alfonso XI was given in the seventies to the twentieth century Castilian king. The Mall is a pedestrian square and in its center is a circular fountain. The rest of the square is divided into four rectangular sectors, each with poplar trees. The unique theater of Gibraltar is also located here. Local celebrations include the Feria del Libro, the

Medieval Market and the feast of All Saints.
