Alcatraz Island

It is difficult to buy Alcatraz tickets the day you’re planning to go so I advise searching the internet for tickets. I searched the internet and found Bay City Guide to have the best package pricing. I purchased the Alcatraz Night Tour (the 5:50pm night trip) and it was really interesting . It would have been better if the return boat was about 30-40 mins sooner.

It is an audio guided tour with 2-3 special presentations. I thought 2.5 hours is a bit too long to spend on the island because it was very cold. I would definitely recommend this tour and bring a warm coat.

The Hop on Big bus tour was great as well. I got to see the city in a short amount of time. My bus driver was Daniel and my guide was a funny Scottish man, Dough. He was hilarious and informative at the same time. He made friendly jokes about the passengers and everyone was laughing and enjoying themselves.

Located in the bay of San Francisco, this could be the most famous prison in the world, with the possible exception of the Bastille in France. Today it has become one of the most visited tourist spots in the US, and is a must if you visit San Francisco.

Beautiful island but with strong and sad story.
