Alcala Xivert Castle

The castle is found on the Sierra de Irta. You can see it from Alcalá de Xivert. To find the path, I went to the outskirts of the town. There is a gas station and a restaurant and I asked how to get there. They told me that I had to take the Nacional road and go under the bridge. From there is a 90 degrees turn, you enter the road and will see a chapel with a picnic area.

Then you continue on the paved road and will see the signs to the castle. You can get there by car, or walking, 2.8 km.

The best part of the castle is the views and the nature; before it was in ruins, but now

The castle is located over a hill, surrounded by Mediterranean pine trees. It has spectacular views.

It is ideal for hiking and getting lost in the paths. Take some water, since I didn’t see any water fountains.
