Aviation has played a very big part in Alaska's history, and from the beginning to the modern day, this museum is the best way to see it all. The museum is located near Anchorage International Airport on the shores of Lake Hood. Inside the big building you'll find a lot about the history of aviation in Alaska, from the Japanese invasion of the Aleutian Islands to the "bush pilots" (pilots flying into Alaska on planes) of today.
