Alameda de Bom Jesus

The Mall of Bom Jesus is located at the entrance of the parish of Fao. It is a peaceful garden and a lovely place to enjoy a stroll amongst the trees. It features a bandstand, a cruise, a fountain from the 19th century and a monument dedicated to the Prior Nogueira. But the most important building of the Alameda de Fao is the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus, where the patron saint of Fao is held. This spot is meant for pilgrimage and so a mass procession is held in honor of Bom Jesus Christ, the weekend before the start of Holy Week.
