A pleasant hotel
In the city of Athens, it's not easy to find hotels with a really distinctive sense of personality; most of them seem quite generic. But the Acropolis is a pleasant exception. Located just steps away from Syntagma Square, this hotel is furnished with old refrigerators, paintings, and a touch of ironic kitsch. The rooms are small but comfortable, often with a small balcony - overlooking the Acropolis if you're lucky. The hotel staff are friendly, and generous with information. There's wi-fi available on the ground floor (the old PC is practically unusable). Breakfast has an additional charge, and it's plentiful.
The owner of the hotel often offers free organic oranges. The only problem for us was the lack of a lift - but regardless, we'll be sure to return!
