Agropoli

Agropoli offers an affordable base for exploring the Cilento area of Campania. The UNESCO archeopark of Paestum is only 5mins away by train, it is on the border of the Cilento National Park and at the weekends (daily during high season) there is a ferry service to the Amalfi coast.

It has all the features of a quaint Italian seaside town, a Byzantine castle, an old town perched on the cliff, a port with a large marina and a costal strip dotted with lidos. There are plenty of inexpensive restaurants serving either pizza or local fish dishes. Make sure to try the local buffalo mozzarella
