Beach - Port Agaete

In the northern part of Gran Canaria, in the Canary Islands, you can find this port with beach. There are white houses and the weather is quite good almost all the time, it is a place that combines everything, it has good restaurants, it has a port and a beach, you can fish, swim, dive, etc.

It has an avenue and natural pools; it has one of the best festivities in Canary Islands in the month of August. My favorite thing is the sunset. It is located in the western part, even though it belongs to the northern community and the sunsets are photographed and admired by many since they are amazing.

In the port you can lie down to suntan or sit down to talk, drink some beers, and enjoy the fresh air. It is a place where you can make an excursion or eat, stroll around, spend the day in the beach…It is usually very calm, even though in the summertime many people go to the rocky beach and to the port, but it doesn’t feel crowded. It is not too big or too small.

It is quite nice and my favorite corner. I like going there on my motorcycle and sit in the port to drink a few beers and listen to some music. It always leaves a smile on my face.

Excellent

Agaete is a fishing port in the north of Gran Canaria. It is a municipality where you can enjoy a beautiful day with the best fresh fish of the island. It has various beaches, mostly rocky, some are difficult to access. The port has a fishing pier where the ferry of Gran Canaria - Tenerife arrives. The coastal area, known as Puerto de las Nieves has numerous bars and restaurants where you have to try the grilled fish, sardines, squid, octopus and local products.

The insignia of this municipality was “The Finger of God” (Dedo de Dios), a rock in the middle of the sea with the shape of a finger pointing to the sky that fell in 2005 after the tropical storm “Delta” that devastated the Canary Islands.

There are beaches with crystalline waters and natural pools to enjoy a great day in Gran Canaria. Enjoy the pictures and remember the popular saying, “If you go to Agaete come and go, because if not it will get into your heart”.
