Manchester Airport

This is one of the best airports in Britain for traveling to the Continent, with several low cost companies like Ryanair. The airport is just 17 kilometers from the city, so you can reach the center of Manchester quickly and cheaply. You can go by train, although be aware that it may take 20 minutes to walk to the station with your suitcase. From the airport station, trains run every 5-10 minutes, and take you to the central station of Piccadilly, near the center of Manchester. The ticket will cost between 1.95 and 4.50 pounds, depending on the time that you make the journey, and it will take 15

Good for shopping and food (although expensive). The parking is easy but security is a nightmare.
