Imposing volcanic formation
The Aeolian Regional Archaeological Museum (Messina) is in the rock castle of Lipari, the imposing volcanic formation with characteristics natural strength. It was the place of prehistoric settlements, an ancient Greek colony of the Acropolis. The museum is a complex composed of several buildings located within the castle, some historical and artistic. The museum presents historical events and characters of the Aeolian archipelago from the 5th century BC to the Middle Ages.
