A Taperia Close to the Cathedral

This is a good place to go for tapas in the old town of Ourense. They offer reasonable prices for well-prepared products, and there is an extensive wine list. El sábado comimos en este restaurante, que se encuentra en pleno casco histórico, a escasos pasos de la Catedral. Está en una casita de dos alturas: En la planta baja tiene un bar-vinoteca y en la planta superior se encuentra el pequeño comedor. Me gustó mucho la decoración, en la que se combinaba lo rústico de las paredes de piedra vista con el mobiliario, y cuadros o láminas más modernas. No obstante, hacía un día estupendo, así que nos sentamos en una de las mesas que habían puesto en la calle, a la entrada del local. La carta no era excesivamente amplia, estaba compuesta por diversas raciones: Pulpo, surtido de quesos gallegos, pimientos de padrón, mejillones, jamón asado... Y unas cazuelas variadas que podían ser tanto vegetales como marinera o montañesa. éramos 2 personas y pedimos: Una ración de chipirones fritos, otra de zamburiñas y una cazuela marinera, que era un guiso de pulpo, almejas y gambas. Las dos primeras raciones estaban espectaculares, nos defraudó un poco la cazuela, aunque también estaba buena, pero esperaba otra cosa. De postre, las típicas filloas con nata y sirope de chocolate, ¡riquísimas! Las raciones fueron bastante abundantes, y el chico que nos atendió fue muy amable, pero lo mejor el precio: Pagamos en total 34€, incluyendo la bebida. Desde luego, un sitio muy recomendable para comer a base de raciones o simplemente para tomar el aperitivo en la vinoteca, en pleno ambientillo del casco antiguo.

However, it was a great day, so we sat at a table that had been put on the street, at the entrance of the premises. The letter was not overbroad, was composed of various portions: Octopus, Galician assortment of cheeses, padron peppers, mussels, roasted ham ... and a varied casseroles that could be both plant and marine or mountain. we were 2 people and ask: A serving of fried squid, scallops and another sailor casserole, which was a stew of octopus, clams and shrimp. The first two portions were spectacular, let us down a little casserole, although it was also good, but I expected something else. For dessert, the typical pancakes with cream and chocolate syrup, delicious! The portions were quite generous, and the guy who greeted us was very friendly, but the best price: We pay a total of 34 €, including drink. Of course, highly recommended a place to eat based rations or just for an aperitif in the wine bar in the ambientillo the old town.
