Abbey of Passignano

The Abbey of Passignano is a great monastery that was founded in 890 AD and is now under the Antinori family domain (which means there are 27 generations dedicated to wine and they have some 32 brands between white and red). Heaven! The winding roads through vineyards, cypresses and olive trees were what lead us to one of the places that will truly make you understand why Tuscany is one of the favorite places to visit among British and Americans to buy and rehabilitate dilapidated warehouses. You should call for a reservation if you visit the winery because, especially in winter, they do so only on a predetermined schedule (and charging of course).

In Tuscany there is no free, rather it is all quite expensive, and the least that they charge for tasting 3 of the famed Antinori wines are € 15. That price is crazy good, especially when you consider that what you serve is for tasting and not even a drink. The place is so beautiful that you forget everything but the truth is that it should go with the credit card in good shape.
