Youth Hostel in the center of Brussels
The hostel is located in the center of Brussels. The closest subway stop is Brockère Rogier, and it's 10 minutes walk from Brussels Nord Station. The street is very quiet, although the Grand Place is just 5 minutes walk away. It is a small hostel (20 rooms). I stayed in a dorm for four people. It was a tad small, but I was only planning to sleep there, so it didn't matter. There was a kitchen, computer room, drinks and coffee machines ... The communal bathrooms were nice, although scarce.
When we went, two showers weren't working, so there were just four for the entire hostel, but we found that we rarely had to wait for a shower.
At check-in you have to leave a deposit of € 10 for the bedding. It also has towel hire if you need it. From 11 pm to 7'30 in the morning the reception and common area (kitchen, dining room, computer, sitting) are closed and you can only access the hostel with your room card. If you check-out before 7'30, the night before you have to warn the reception for you to return the deposit. The overall feel very good, fairly quiet (much quieter than other hostels I've been to).
